A few years ago when I was ready to start a family with my husband Patrick we were told that I wouldn't be able to conceive naturally and that if I did happen to conceive I wouldn't be able to carry my baby to term. It was a devastating time in our lives but we picked up the pieces and moved on. Four years later not only did I conceive naturally, but I’m now in the third trimester of what has been the most blissful pregnancy. As a World Vision Australia Blog Ambassador I wanted to celebrate my pregnancy and the upcoming birth of my child by encouraging friends, family and businesses I work with to minimise the gifts they offer to mark the occasion and instead contribute a small amount to help mothers in Uganda with clean birthing kits and the support of a community health worker. I think all women should have access to safe and quality health and medical support during this extremely exciting yet vulnerable period in their lives.
